About Bhavnagar City

Bhavnagar is a city in Gujarat state. Bhavnagar city is the headquarters of Bhavnagar district and is located in western India of Gujarat state. Bhavnagar is the state of Gujarat, in the north of Ahmedabad district in the north, Khambhat Bay in the south, Surendranagar district in the south and surrounded by Junagadh district in the west. Bhavnagar is located in the southeast Kathiawar and Saurashtra region. The state capital of Bhavnagar was called the house of many ponds and temples.

Bhavnagar was founded in 1743 by Maheshinghji Gohil on the edge of a small village Vadava, of Maavnagar Boros. His ancestors came here from Marwar (Rajasthan). At that time it was a flourishing port. At present, a large ship-breaking industry has evolved over snails and Alang port. The Town Hall was formerly known as the Darbar Hall (1932 AD), where the coronation of Sir Krishnakumar Singh ji was concluded. Victoria Park is a paradise of bird lovers and nature lovers. Until 1947, it was the capital of a princely state, after which it merged into the Indian Union.

History Of Bhavnagar

Bhavnagar was established in 1723 by Bhasinjiji Gohil. Gohil actually moved from Marwar and established his center in a village called Vadwa, which is currently known as Bhavnagar city. The city of Bhavnagar is preserved from a fort, and it has served as a major port connecting places such as the Persian Gulf with Africa, Mozambique, Zanzibar, Singapore and India for almost two centuries. Brahma Kund: Brahma Kund (known as Brahma family) located in Sehore city of Bhavnagar district of Gujarat, is a staircase Numa tank with many idols of Hindu Goddesses. The trunk (staircase tank) holds a great historical significance. It is believed that the water of Brahma Kunda is the water, so that King Siddharaj was helped to recover from his skin disease after being cursed by Ranka Devi. Brahma Kund is built in the style of medieval architecture, with small temples, beautifully carved idols and stairs designs of the Gods.

Talaja Hill : Talaji Nagar is located on the top of a small hill on the confluence of the enemies of Tsatuanai and Talaaji rivers. Within the hills there are carved Buddhist caves or monasteries which were built thousands of years ago. It is worth the ride on the hill, because at the top of the hill you can find a magnificent Jain temple. Tourists often go to this place to lose themselves in the beauty of these temples and monasteries.

Nilambagh Palace : Nilambagh Palace is the present residence of members of the royal family. This palace is the only five star historical property in the city, which is owned by the royal family. The palace was built in a plot of 10 acres in the year 1859 AD. This palace designed by a German architect contains elements of Indian architecture in contemporary style.

Piram Island : Piram Island is an island located 6 km away from Ghogha in Bhavnagar district of Gujarat. The island was built about 3.5 million years ago and it is known for many different forms of life, including many endangered species. There are many ancient caves and remains of the fort built in 1325.

Barton Library : Barton Library is one of the oldest libraries in Gujarat. The library was designed for a road junction. The two-storey library was built in 1895. It has two parts and a central tower and it has been constructed with square stone. There is a sloping roof of Gothic arches windows and Mangalore tiles. There is also a museum in the library.

The Velavadar National Park : The Velavadar National Park was established in 1976, which is located in the Bhavnagar district of Gujarat in the Bhar area of Saurashtra. It was formerly used for hunting purposes which was the private pasture of the Maharaja of Bhavnagar. Black deer is the main attraction of National Park, while other animals can be seen as Neel Cow, Other Jackal, Wolf, Wild Cat etc.

The Takhteshwar Temple : The Takhteshwar Temple is located in the center of Bhavnagar in Gujarat. The entire hill can be seen from the hill on which the temple is built. The temple was built in 1893 and its name was named after the patron of Takhtsingh ji.

Khodiyar Temple: Khodiyar Temple is located on the banks of Khodiyar lake in Bhavnagar. The temple is dedicated to its proven god, Khodiyar Maa and was built in 1911. Tourists often come from the surrounding areas in the temple.

Ganga Devi Mandir : Ganga Devi Mandir, by name itself, seems to have dedicated this temple to Ganga Devi. This temple has umbrella, pavilion and a bridge, all of which is made of white marble. Ganga Devi Mandir was built in the year 1893.

Gandhi Smriti : Gandhi Smriti stands as a memorial of Mahatma Gandhi. The building was established in 1955, and there is a large collection of books and other items used by Mahatma Gandhi.
